Musicians
Every musician's mix on one screen. This is where you add musicians, pick their outputs and set their overall level.
The MUSICIANS page is every musician's mix on one screen, one strip each, like the aux masters on a desk. This is where you add musicians, pick the output each mix goes out on and set their overall level.
- 1How many musicians, and how many free output pairs are left
- 2Add a musician
- 3Their name tile: colour, name, icon
- 4Their phone: the QR code and link
- 5Where they go out - click to change
- 6Their sources around the head - click to open their mix
- 73D / ST / MONO, and ROOM under it
- 8Their master level and what reaches their ears
Adding a musician#
Click MUSICIAN (top right). The new musician:
- is called "Musician 2", "Musician 3" and so on;
- goes out on the first free output pair – or nowhere, if none is free;
- gets the next colour and a master of 0 dB;
- gets their own phone link;
- hears every source that already exists, each at its usual place around the head, at 0 dB.
The box on the left counts the musicians and the free output pairs ("2 free output pairs"), or says "no free outputs" in red. Up to 16 musicians; past that, the button adds nobody.
The strip, top to bottom#
| Part | What it does |
|---|---|
| Number and mode | "01", and at the right the mode: 3D in white, STEREO or MONO in yellow |
| Name tile | Colour, name and icon. Dimmed while their mix is muted |
| Phone button | Opens the phone panel. A green badge with a number: that many phones are connected |
| Output line | "→ OUT 35–36". Click to choose another output |
| Mini scene | Their sources around the head, seen from above. Click to open their MIX page |
| 3D / ST / MONO | How they hear their mix – see 3D, STEREO, MONO |
| ROOM | A touch of space around the mix, in their colour. Only in 3D; double-click turns it off |
| Read-out | The master in dB, or MUTED in red |
| Fader and meters | Their master, -60 to +10 dB. The L/R meters show what goes to their ears |
| MUTE / OPEN | Mute their whole mix / open their MIX page |
The musician whose mix is open on the MIX page has a brighter outline.
All faders and knobs in the IEM layer work the same: drag (hold ⇧ for fine), click the track to jump there, double-click for the home value (0 dB, ROOM off), the wheel moves 0.5 dB. A sideways swipe scrolls the page instead of moving a fader.
Choosing an output#
Click the output line under the name tile. The output picker opens:
- 1The musician
- 2Where they go out now
- 3Used by the rack - can't be picked
- 4A free pair, with the interface's own name for it
- 5Another musician's pair - can't be picked
- 6Their own pair, in their colour
- 7Unassign the output
- Outputs come in pairs: OUT 1–2, 3–4, 5–6 and so on.
- A pair is free when no rack channel goes out there and no other musician is on it.
- Free pairs show the interface's own names where it has any ("Phones 2 L / Phones 2 R"). Plain names like "Output 3" are left out.
- Click a free pair to send the musician there. The box closes.
- NOWHERE takes them off any output. Their strip then reads "→ NOWHERE" in red.
Once a musician is on a pair, the rack keeps off it: in a rack channel's output list that pair reads "(in-ears: name)" and is greyed out.
Name, colour, icon#
- Double-click the name to rename in place. ↩ or clicking away keeps it, esc cancels. Up to 40 characters.
- Double-click the icon to pick another one.
- Right-click the tile for Rename, Colour, Icon (or No icon) and **Remove *name***.
Until you pick an icon, it's guessed from the name, the same way as for the rack's channels. The musician sees their own tile on their phone too.
Removing a musician#
Right-click the tile and choose **Remove *name***. The app asks first: "name's in-ear mix stops and their settings are gone." After Remove their output goes silent at once and their phones show "YOUR MIX IS GONE".
